Wet Felted Tote (Saturday 6/25/22) With Needle Felted Embellishments on Tote (Sunday 6/26/22)

This is a weekend class. We will wet felt the tote on Saturday, let it dry overnight then come back on Sunday to finish with needle felting. Wet felting is one of the best ways for adults to relax and make a mess!!! There is lots of fun and laughter in this one. We will use washed and carded alpaca fiber, hot water, soap and elbow grease to make a beautiful wet felted tote.
Sunday we will use felting needles and beautiful decorating fibers and yarns to create custom designs on our totes. All supplies are included and students will leave with a finished custom tote.

Beginning Spinning (Saturday 7/23/22)

Watching someone spin on a spinning wheel or with a hand spindle is nothing short of magical. Now you can learn how to create this magic yourself. Participants will use carded or combed wool and alpaca fiber to learn the basics of hand spinning. We will measure fleece staples and practice drafting to prepare for spinning on a hand spindle and spinning wheel. All spindles, spinning wheels and fibers will be provided.

Spinning Softly (Sunday 7/24/22)

Many times, beginning spinners are so busy learning about controlling the spinning wheel that they make yarn that is very over spun and feels harsh. In this class, we will focus on techniques to make very soft, lofty yarns that still have strength and integrity. A variety of fibers will be used to showcase these techniques.

Entrelac Knitting / Scarf (Saturday 8/20/22)

Entrelac Knitting is a technique of knitting small squares and triangles to create beautiful and colorful garments. We will learn the basics of Entrelac Knitting to knit an alpaca scarf. Students need to know the basics of knitting such as casting on, knit and purl stitch and binding off. We will incorporate increasing and decreasing stitches in this process. Needles and yarn provided and students will learn what is needed to complete their scarf.

Beginning Crochet / Hat (Sunday 8/21/22)

Warm, cozy crocheted hats are all the rage right now! Students will use crochet hooks and alpaca yarn to create a soft, comfy hat. Students will learn to make a chain and use half double, double and single crochet stitches to complete this project. All supplies are included and students will take home a finished hat.

Hand Controlled Weave Structures on the Rigid Heddle Loom (Saturday (9/10/22)

This is the second class on the Rigid Heddle loom. Students will learn to warp their looms in class and how to use a Pick- Up Stick to create beautiful lace patterns such as Leno and Brooks Bouquet. All looms and fibers provided. Students will take home a finished cotton table runner.

Entrelac Knitting / Hat (Sunday 9/11/22)

We will continue our Entrelac Knitting journey with a second class to learn how to make an Entrelac hat. These hats are very warm but have a loose and comfortable fit. Students will use several colors of alpaca yarn to learn to knit Entrelac in the round. Circular knitting needles will be used to create this project. All needles and yarn provided and students will take home a finished hat.
